Trampolining is not an all frills experience. A trampoline safety net can certainly be the best investment when it comes to trampoline safety and your child. Trampoline related accidents are a cause of severe concern all around the world. Since a majority of trampoline users are children, the injuries can be serious. Very often, these accidents take place when safety rules are ignored. Placing the trampoline near an obstruction, trying new and awkward tricks, and people falling off the trampoline are the general causes of accidents. These could have been avoided if the owners had a enclosure net in place. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has reported that 80% of Trampoline injuries needing hospital treatment are a direct result of falling off a trampoline, which could have been prevented by having an enclosure net in place. Be aware that the 80% is only accidents that were significant enough for a visit to casualty, there were no doubt many others which occurred that did not need medical attention but caused some distress both to children and their families.

A trampoline safety net certainly adds to the safety measures of your backyard trampoline and are a good way to prevent such occurrences. The concept of a trampoline safety net has been derived from the safety net used commonly by trapeze artists. The safety enclosure net is of two types, either attached or freestanding. The attached nets are more secure and safer than the freestanding ones. The support rods of the net are usually made out of a galvanized metal to avoid rusting. Stainless steel and zinc are the most commonly used supports. These metal bars are padded so as to prevent any injury if the user happens to collide with the structure. The bars are firmly attached to the legs of the trampoline, making the net extremely sturdy. (Ensure the trampoline enclosure you do get does have poles that go all the way to the ground) The net is made from a strong synthetic substance with netting holes best when smaller that finger tip size.

These safety nets are available for trampolines of all shapes and sizes. The safety net prevents the person from falling off the trampoline and also induces confidence in first-time users. However, there are those who oppose the use of safety nets by claiming that the device induces a false sense of security. Children are likely to be left unsupervised, which may again result in accidents. Good quality safety net prices start around $130 and can go up depending on the quality and size.

Some kids try to convince parents they are too old to have a safety enclosure net assembled on their trampoline, however Trampolines that come with safety enclosure nets are designed to have the nets set up as part of their structural stability and it is therefore recommended to follow the factory recommendation to do so.

If you don't already have a trampoline with safety enclosure, because the one you bought didn't have that option, you didn't think you needed it or a safety enclosure wasn't standard then. Don't get worried, you can still get one. And you don't have to hunt around to get an enclosure for your kind of trampoline - you just need to make sure that you size it right depending on whether you need 12ft, 13ft or 14ft circular safety net enclosures.

Injuries are more likely to occur when more than one jumper is on the trampoline, and the person who weighs less is more vulnerable. It has been quoted that they are 5 times more likely to be injured because they can be easily bounced off the mat. So, instead of putting all your energy into trying enforce the 1 jumper at a time - a rule that won't work, why not just put up a safety enclosure and know that whatever happen they and their friends won't be able to bounce off the trampoline.

The best trampoline enclosure should be least on adjustments to your existing frame, should have a quality safety netting (durable, weather proof and quality stitching) with strong galvanized support poles and foam padding on all support poles and most importantly it should be able to accommodate an adult just in case an adult gets the bouncing bug!

Buying a safety net is a bit bulky so buying it online is a good idea. Simply measure your re and place your order. That's all it takes. Scroll back up to order your trampoline safety enclosure today!
